Easter Egg Hunt 2015: Steckle Heritage Farm, Kitchener

I was so excited to be a part of this awesome event as well as join Steckle Farm as one of their corporate partners!
Steckle Heritage Farm is one of the coolest places in Kitchener Waterloo in my opinion. It is an Educational working farm, right in the city. I initially found Steckle Farm a few years ago when I was on Maternity leave with my oldest son. We signed up for one of their Little Farmers camps and he loved it.
We also had his 4th birthday party there last April but we definitely did not luck out with the great Spring weather that we had on Good Friday for this years Easter Egg Hunt.

If you are in the Kitchener Waterloo area I definitely recommend checking out their Tuesday drop in nights or the other events and camps they offer – they fill up QUICK!!

Case and point – the Easter Egg Hunt day SOLD OUT in 6 MINUTES this year – I’m pretty sure the Steckle Farm Friends might have blown up the servers that day.

The weather was a little touch and go that day but Mother Nature was kind and it day turned into a beautiful Canadian Spring day.

The Egg hunt visitors did not mind the wind and grey skies at all, they were very eager, arrived right on time and patiently waited for instructions on how the event would unfold from the Steckle Farm Exec.Director, Krista.Easter Eggs at the Kitchener Egg Hunt

At the word GO, the kids were off and running!
The little kids (0-3yrs old) entered the barn and collected the treats the Easter bunny left for them in there.
The big kids (4+yrs old) were sent on a scavenger hunt around the Steckle farm to collect eggs that would later be redeemed for a lootbag.

Some of the farm animals were back at the farm for the festivities and enjoyed seeing old friends and meeting new friends as well.

The families enjoyed time visiting with the animals as well as playing in the hay area, taking pictures at the Yellow Brick Road Photography booth, doing crafts and making bunny masks.

I had the pleasure of setting up a Yellow Brick Road Photography photobooth for the families to stop by and take self portraits and make funny faces. I LOVED seeing all the kids stopping by and it was great to see all the parents getting IN the pictures as well.

See you at the next Steckle event!
