As a Guelph cake smash photographer, I LOVE creating sessions that feel both joyful and timeless, allowing your little one’s personality to shine through every portrait.
At Yellow Brick Road Photography, our 1st birthday sessions are designed to capture this big milestone in a way that’s timeless. We start with simple, classic portraits before bringing out the cake for a little fun! The setup is clean and minimal, focusing on your baby’s smiles and expressions rather than big props, colours or themes.
What Makes Our Cake Smash Sessions Unique
We believe that simple styling never goes out of style.
From soft neutrals, modern bed set ups, each session is planned with care so your portraits remain timeless long after the day is over. (And don’t worry, we handle ALL the details!) From wardrobe pieces from our studio closet in sizes 6mth-18mth to providing the white cake from our baker. Our goal is to make the experience fun and stress-free.
Capturing Personality (and Frosting!)
Some babies dive right in, while others take a few moments to explore the texture of frosting on their fingers. Either way, every reaction is part of the magic. Those wide eyes, curious smiles, and sweet giggles make for portraits you’ll treasure forever.

If you have a baby turning one in the next 6mths – now is the time to reserve. We reserve well in advance as we only accept a few birthday sessions each month. The sessions are captured at 11mth of age.
