Newborn sessions are so much more than Newborn sessions when I capture the arrival of baby #2, #3 (or more).
It is about capturing the whole family at this stage in life. It is about capturing the bond with each sibling and their new little brother or sister. It is about documenting portraits of mom and dad with the new baby alone (this may not happen for awhile and it is so important for them to have these moments preserved.)
For this family on top of documenting all of the above extremely personal and special moments we also captured the session at a very meaningful location, Grandma’s house. A home where both older siblings were babysat, visited weekly, many happy family gatherings have taken place, tons of memories and many favourite hidden spots and unique details that the children pointed out as they showed me the home when I arrived.
Although Grandma and Grandpa are excited for their new home this Summer, Christine (mom) and Kenen (dad) knew it would be important to document moments of baby J in the Family home so he would have memories of the home as well.
Miabella was the absolute best big sister, she was excited to bump her baby brother, wanted to hold and rock him but told me she is not interested in learning to change diapers anytime soon. She was the most confident mini momma I have ever met. She stood and swayed her brother with so much love and tenderness.
