Maternity photography is a popular way to document this special moment in time and preserve the memories for years to come.
One of the first questions we receive is: when the best time is to take maternity photos.
Here’s what you need to know:
The ideal time to take maternity photos is between 32-36 weeks into your pregnancy.
This is when your bump is typically the most prominent, and you still have enough energy to pose for photos. You’ll want to schedule your session with your photographer several weeks in advance to ensure that you are able to reserve that date and time window.
(If you wait too long to take your maternity photos, you may miss the opportunity to capture the beauty of your pregnancy.
As you approach your due date, you may feel uncomfortable and tired, making it difficult to pose for photos. Additionally, there’s always the chance that your baby may arrive earlier than expected, leaving you without the chance to take the pictures you envisioned.)
Ultimately, the best time to take maternity pictures is when you feel comfortable.
With our studio you have the option to reserve a studio maternity session or an outdoor maternity session. (Outdoor evening sessions are available May-mid Oct.)
