Fergus Fresh 48 Newborn Photographer
I’m catching up on all the sweet babies I captured in 2018.
Today we are taking a look back to the end of June when I captured Fresh 48 Session at Groves Memorial Community Hospital in Fergus, Ontario.

How to Reserve a Fresh 48 Session:
Parents are strongly encouraged to connect at the beginning of the second trimester to ensure availability as these are on-call sessions.
They are booked on a very limited basis per month.
We connect and chat about the details and the due date is put in my calendar.
Fresh 48 Session Prep Details:
I talk with the parents about how they will let me know baby is coming.
We discuss how to get to the hospital in the quickest time possible.
Birth plan that includes 24 hour or 48 hour hospital stay after birth.
The session is usually captured on the morning of the day that parents are being release from the hospital.
Fresh 48 Sessions are captured right in Mom and Dad’s hospital room shortly after Baby’s arrival (24-48 hours.)
When I arrive I am usually meeting the family for the very first time.
Families are captured in a documentary style so there is no need to be dressed up.
I suggest that Mom wears clothes that are comfortable like, pants and a tank top or pyjamas.
I recommend to bring an extra shirt for Dad in the hospital bag so it is all ready to go.
There is no prep for baby except maybe a good feed, if possible before I arrive.
I capture baby very organically in the newborn basinet using the hospital blankets.
I focus on their little details; baby hairs, tiny wispy eyelashes and gorgeous little lips.
Mom and Dad are always beaming with love staring at their little bundle of joy!
One of my favourite moments is when newborn’s let out a little yawn or scream before they need to be fed at the end of a session.
They make the best and most memorable portraits.
It is strongly suggested that your Fresh 48 newborn session is reserved during your second trimester to ensure on call availability. (Very limited Fresh 48 session availability each month due to the on call nature.)
The session is approx. 45 min to 1 hour in length in your hospital room and is captured within the first 24-48hrs of baby’s arrival.
