This In Home Session was captured in Brooke and Adam’s beautiful home in Guelph! Being first time parents, this was a special session and was full of such beautiful moments.

Their lovely dog Watson, has the sweetest demeanour and reminded me so much of my dog growing up. He was so well behaved during the entire experience and was eager to be in portraits (and collect some treats, of course).

Baby Austin William was just the sweetest to capture and was ready for his portraits that day. We decided to start with the family portraits in their lovely master bedroom. The space was bright and was the perfect spot to capture these moments. This is where Watson certainly showed off his modelling skills. He was so well behaved and will surely be the perfect buddy for Austin!

I love seeing how family pets interact with new additions.

After capturing family portraits, we moved to the beautifully decorated nursery. Brooke and Adam gave the nursery a neutral jungle theme and it was dreamy. Playing on this theme, they had a life-sized baby giraffe! How fun is that? The crib was a stunning piece they selected from Snuggle Bugz in a gorgeous black. The sheets were the most soft muslin material with small neutral details that tied everything together. The nursery was the perfect backdrop to capture portraits of sweet baby Austin!

Austin had a full head of newborn hair – which I love during sessions. It is details like this that I love to capture during this time.

I’ve noticed that most newborns generally have darker hair and as the year progresses it can change so much. I love seeing how their hair changes from newborn to first birthday!

It was such a pleasure to be welcomed into Brooke and Adam’s home to meet little Austin. As first time parents, these portraits document such a beautiful time for the family.
