Fresh 48 Sessions are a privilege to capture. The moments between baby and family within the first 48 hours are some of the most precious memories!
For this session, I travelled to Headwaters Health Care Centre in Orangeville to meet sweet baby Beckett and his family. This was an extra special visit as I had previously captured portraits for older sister, Harper, when she was younger.
When I arrived, Mom, Kelly and Dad, Mike were all snuggled up with baby. Kelly had her makeup done by the lovely Kyla of Village Spa in Elora and looked absolutely beautiful.
As these sessions are documentary in style, families are encouraged to dress comfortably and in neutral tones, this way everyone is at ease and the focus is on capturing the special moments with baby. For this session, Kelly wore a robe and family dressed in neutral colours. This ensured that everyone was cozy and relaxed.
Beckett was an absolute dream. I was able to capture all of the details like his little lashes, lips and feet. As the baby changes so fast, having these memories captured within the first hours are so precious.
I always love seeing siblings interact with the baby. It’s so fun seeing them realize that this baby is a new addition to their family and not just someone that they are visiting in the hospital. This was definitely the case for sweet Harper. She was realizing that she was now a big sister!
Since Beckett was induced, it was very important we took this session at Kelly’s pace. This meant there was limited standing and we focused more on staying seated in bed. Keeping mom and baby comfortable is priority during these sessions.
Fresh 48 Sessions are captured between the first 24-48 hours after birth in select hospitals within a certain driving distance (please inquire for more details).
The first moments with baby are some of the most cherished memories. These sessions ensure that you have beautiful portraits to mark these moments so you can be present with your new addition.
