Sitter Sessions are the perfect way to capture such a beautiful stage in a baby’s life. At this age, personalities really start to show through and shine!
Before the baby and family arrive at our studio, we always pull a selection of clothing from our collection that are in the appropriate size. This way it is easy to select their two favourite outfits for the session. Generally, we have a mixture of a bed and high chair set up, providing different environments for baby to interact.
For this Sitter Session I captured sweet baby Clementine (yes, she is as cute as her name suggests). From the moment mom reserved this session with us, I just knew Clementine was going to be the sweetest. When she arrived I noticed her gorgeous blue eyes, sweet little cheeks and the most adorable peach fuzz hair. I certainly wanted to capture these details in this session!
Clementine was 7 months old and she was perfecting her “sitting up” skills independently. This was such a delight to capture as she was so interactive and full of movement.
When selecting the wardrobe, mom decided on a dress top and bloomers that really highlighted her sweet blue eyes!
We first started capturing portraits of baby without any toys so she was independent and interacted with the camera. Then, we brought in the beautiful organic wooden toys. At this age babies love to chew on everything and in this case, Clementine was no different. My favourite part of this age is when babe is finding their hands and feet, loving their flexibility to be able to nibble on their toes!
Generally, the wardrobe is selected from our collection, but mom brought along an adorable bonnet from Briar Baby and I just needed to capture her in it. It really suited her sweet personality.
To finish this session, we brought Clementine to our highchair. She wasn’t overly impressed at first, but let me capture the small details like close ups of her eyes and little wrist rolls. Those are the kinds of details that change so quickly so it’s important for me to capture these.
This session was filled with so many smiles and sweet Clementine was a delight to capture. I’m so happy her family will have these portraits to remember this age.
