In Home Session Kitchener | Lifestyle Newborn Photo session

I love when I am asked to capture growing families for an In Home Session! I find real moments full of smiles and laughter come easily during those sessions because the siblings are so funny and interactive (especially when the kids are under the age of 5).

I always say that kids run the show during our sessionsand I encourage little siblings to be in the portraits if they would like – and how they would like.

For this In Home Session, I captured lovely baby Sean. This was such a sweet experience to capture the connection between him and his sweet family.

We started the session with older brother, Oliver, who joined after Grandma had picked him up from preschool. He was so excited to me meet and had lots of adorable questions and “whys” <3

Once we started the family portraits, big bro was very eager to jump right in!

I also must say that they have the two sweetest pups, Penny and Roger. Penny is a golden doodle with a whole lot of side-eye and character! They both had the most personality and had me laughing throughout the session.

When families have pets I always encourage that they join in for the family portraits as they are such a big part of the family. Our sweet family pets aren’t with us for as long as we would like and these moments will serve as beautiful memories of this time. During the family portraits, I love to capture just baby with pets, usually the family dog or cat (I will not capture any pet squirrels… trust me, it’s been asked and it’s a no go lol).

In these sessions, I love to capture a range of portraits where baby is with parents, siblings, pets and by themselves. Depending on sleep level, I love to capture baby in parents arms or in the bassinet just as they are sleeping rather than when they are posed in outfits, baskets or buckets.

When selecting the spaces for these portraits, we look to the spaces with the most natural light in the home. Rooms like the nursery, master bedroom and living space are generally used the most and provide families with a beautiful backdrop that they’ve designed. These portraits truly are beautiful keepsakes for baby in the future as they detail their first home and nursery.

It was such a wonderful experience capturing these portraits for Sean and his family. They have the best family dynamic and really showed their beautiful connection in this session.

These In Home Sessions are captured within the first 14 days of birth and the reservation itself is confirmed within the second trimester.
